Chelmsford, Mass. – Nov. 25, 2019 – Live streaming services to remote parishioners is no longer purely the purview of the mega-church. With an hour of training and a smart device, anyone can control a camera and graphics like the pros from a pew or even a sofa clear across the country. With the Broadcast Pix Commander touchscreen control platform on a phone or tablet, macros can be pre-programmed to automatically position the camera, display graphics, and control streaming. A macro can even be set up to stream the day’s sermon when volunteers are not available.
As one example, St. Luke’s Cathedral in Portland, ME, has live streamed over 300 services on its website using the Commander interface to control their Sony PTZ camera and graphics. The production is simple, but the results are not. The camera receives an audio feed from the church’s sound system, streams the signal via IP to a Broadcast Pix integrated production system installed at Broadcast Pix headquarters in Chelmsford, MA. From there, the service is streamed live to the church’s site.
