Here is a production tip from our Technical Support team for those who encounter an issue after a software update.

If your Windows 10 system reports a failure after an installation upon startup, we advise you to run the Check Disk Utility on your system drive to correct it.

To correct an update issue on your Windows 10 system, follow these steps:

  • Go to the Windows File Explorer and right-click the System C drive, which may be labeled C:\ or C:/, and select Properties at the bottom of the pop-up window.
  • Click the Tools tab and click the Check button to scan the disk.
  • If you receive a message saying you do not need to scan the disk, you should select Scan Drive anyways.
  • When the scan is complete, restart your system.
  • Go to Windows Settings by clicking on the gear icon in the windows start menu and select Update and Security.
  • Click the Check for Updates button to reinstall any failed updates.
