What makes ChurchPix unique?

Is there an audio mixer?
Yes, there is an internal audio mixer to control the USB, Network Input audio, clip audio and any other attached audio device. You may have different signals going to the recorded file and to the stream output, if desired.

How do I connect audio from my in-house PA sound system?
There are several ways to connect your Audio:

  • Good: Using a ⅛” mini jack to the line-level input on the PC system.
  • Better: Use an external USB Preamp, like a Focusrite Scarlett to convert XLR or ¼” Jack connections to USB. Appropriate drivers may need to be installed.
  • Best. If using networked Digital Audio, such as Dante, connect via the network connection and use the in-built Dante virtual sound card. (Requires Dante license to be purchased from https://www.audinate.com).
    • Anything appearing as a Windows Sound Device can be used in the audio mixer.

How many inputs does ChurchPix have?
2 external cameras, 2 channels of internal clips, 2 still stores, 1 logo, 1 cg store. There are up to 2 Network Inputs (NDI/RTMP). If you need more than 2 external inputs, then look to upgrade to a Broadcast Pix FX8 and FX10.

How many total outputs are there?
1 NDI and 1 stream. You can use NDI to feed external converters for HDMI or SDI or use NDI to feed other applications or network devices.

How do I connect the RoboPix cameras?
A Power over Ethernet (PoE) switch is included with ChurchPix. The RoboPix cameras are set to DHCP, simply connect a Cat 6 ethernet cable to each camera, one to the ChurchPix Lan port and power the switch. Your house network can also be connected to the same switch.

Can I control non RoboPix cameras?
Yes. Even though 2 RoboPix cameras are included with ChurchPix, you can use other IP cameras Broadcast Pix can control a variety of Sony, Panasonic, JVC and other VISCA controllable cameras through IP and video through NDI.

How many overlays can I use?
There are 2 key channels that can be used for overlaying transparent graphics or to create a picture-in-picture effect.

Can I use the network to display PowerPoint or worship software like ProPresenter?
Yes, many worship software applications support NDI and can be used through the network. Using media-aware Macros multiple NDI sources can be routed into the 2 video sources of ChurchPix. If an application does not support NDI natively, the NDI Scan Convertor application can be used to transmit what is on your desktop over the network and feed the Network Input in ChurchPix. NDI Scan Converter is supported for Windows & Mac.

What are the minimum requirements for NDI Tools?

  • Microsoft Windows operating system (32-bit compatible; 64-bit recommended)
    • NDI Scan Converter requires Windows 8 or better along with a DirectX 11 compatible video card
    • NDI Virtual Input require Windows 7 or better
    • All other NDI Tools require Windows Vista or better
  • Mac-compatible versions of NDI Tools require Mac OS X or better
  • Intel Core i3 CPU or better (Intel i5 CPU or better recommended)
  • 6GB RAM or better

Can I output to a projector for image magnification (IMAG)?
ChurchPix does not have a physical output for IMAG. For installations that require more functionality, select one of our MX or GX models that have low constant delay of 1 frame.

How many monitors can I connect to the system?
Up to 2 monitors can be connected, one by HDMI and one by DisplayPort. However, only one monitor is needed for most operations. It’s recommended to use a 1920×1080 resolution.

Can I use a touchscreen monitor?
Yes, the user interface is designed to be used by mouse or touchscreen for ease of use. Most touchscreen monitors connect through USB.

Can I modify the user interface?
Yes you can. The Commander interface in ChurchPix can be configured in any number of ways, you may use the included designer or contact our support experts for assistance.

Does ChurchPix natively record?
Yes, it records and streams simultaneously. The file format is a h.264 .MOV file, which can be used in many popular editing, streaming and sharing applications.

Where does the recorded file live?
By default the file is recorded on the internal SSD drive, you may choose to use external USB 3.0 or 3.1 drives to record onto. In addition, BPNet cloud services may be used to upload and archive your recordings. 1 hour of recording is roughly 6GB of hard drive space.

Does ChurchPix stream?
Yes, it streams and records simultaneously. You may stream to one platform at a time using native login integration to Facebook Live, YouTube, IBM Cloud, Livestream or a manual RTMP.

Can I simultaneously stream to multiple platforms?
Yes. ChurchPix includes a 14 day subscription to our 3rd party partner called Switchboard from where you can stream to multiple social media platform simultaneously. For pricing after the trial period visit www.switchboard.live

Can I play my own clips?
Yes, you can import content using the watch folder on the desktop to add your own custom content. Clips need to be 1920×1080 in a .mov wrapper, compressed at H.264, ProRes, DNxHD or QT Animation.

Do I need to register my system?
Yes please, you should register your system using the BPNet cloud service, this allows Broadcast Pix to provide you the latest information about ChurchPix.

What is BPNet?
It is used for registering all Broadcast Pix systems and provides 25GB of cloud storage for archiving, sharing and collaborating. More storage can also be purchased. It is also used for securely logging into various streaming platforms.

How portable is ChurchPix?
Extremely portable, the processing engine weighs under 3lbs (1.3kgs), the RoboPix camera is 3lbs (1.4kgs), so a kit can be assembled weighing roughly 15lbs (6.8kgs) depending on the case.

How can I add Graphics?
ChurchPix can playback full page and transparent graphics (.png, .tga, .bmp, .jpeg) and comes with stock content to use. Any custom graphic needs to be created in 3rd party applications, like Adobe Photoshop. Graphics can be added to the system through the desktop watch folder or via BPNet.
